The 11th edition of the Energy Day of Brasov 2019, organized by REPOM, ended successfully. National and international experts, great names from energy sector have discussed the importance of producing more renewable energy in Romania.
On May 17, 2019 REPOM organized the Brasov Energy Day conference, which has reached the XIth edition and debated the necessity of coal phase-out transition, adaptation of the Clean Energy Package to a national framework, also taxing CO2 emissions.
The event enjoyed the presence of over 150 participants, including an impressive number of national and international experts in the energy sector. They reached different conclusions on the main topics of the conference:
Martin Moise, REPOM/PATRES: “We have much higher expectations from authorities on the renewable production in line with the global and European direction.”
Claudia Brandus, RWEA/Enel Group: “There is a need for regulations, the acceptance of the transition and, moreover, a real dialogue with the authorities.”
Jurgen Ludwig, Consultant: “14 countries in Europe are already taxing CO2, and there is a discussion in Germany about this tax. A proposal for Romania is to remove the green fee tax from invoices to be replaced by CO2 taxes.”
