Energy Day Brașov 2026: Digitalization, system balance, and collaboration between industry, authorities, and research at the core of discussions

Brașov, March 13–14, 2026 – The 14th edition of the Energy Day Brașov conference, held at Radisson Blu Aurum Brașov, brought forward the theme of digitalization in energy, analyzed from the perspective of public policies, the energy industry, and research. The event gathered leaders from the energy sector, representatives of public authorities, industry experts, and academia to discuss how technology, data, and automation are transforming the production, distribution, and consumption of energy.

The central theme of this year’s edition – Digitalization in Energy – highlighted the role of artificial intelligence, automation, and digital platforms in building a smarter, more flexible, and more transparent energy system. At the same time, discussions emphasized that digitalization must be balanced with the real needs of the energy system: energy security, market stability, and the efficient integration of renewable energy.

From public strategy to industry and research solutions

The structure of the conference reflected this integrated approach, with panels designed to capture the key dimensions of the energy sector’s transformation.

The first session focused on strategy and regulatory frameworks, bringing together representatives from public institutions and energy infrastructure operators. Discussions addressed the role of public policies, regulation, and investments in modernizing networks to support renewable energy integration and the development of a digital energy system.

The following panels highlighted the perspective of the industry and energy markets, where companies and sector organizations discussed how digitalization is becoming a competitive advantage, contributing to energy portfolio optimization, the development of more flexible markets, and increased operational efficiency.

Academic and research center presentations also played an important role, covering topics such as artificial intelligence applied to energy production forecasting, cybersecurity of energy infrastructure, and the impact of prosumers on the National Energy System.

European cooperation and regional innovation ecosystems

An important dimension of this year’s edition was the Local Info Days – COALition Hubs session, organized in partnership with the European initiative COALition, which aims to develop regional innovation ecosystems for the digital energy transition.

During this session, participants analyzed the tools through which European policies, regional investments, and collaboration between industry, public administration, and academia can be transformed into concrete, bankable energy projects.

Day two: applied solutions for the digitalization of the energy sector

The second day of the conference was dedicated to applied workshops, focused on the practical implementation of ideas discussed during the panels.

Participants explored industrial models for energy valorization and financial analysis tools for energy investments, as well as advanced technologies for predictive maintenance of photovoltaic systems using drones, thermography, and artificial intelligence. The sessions emphasized replicable solutions and practical tools for managing the transformations generated by digitalization in the energy sector.

A platform for dialogue in the energy sector

In the conference closing message, Martin Moise, Vice President of PATRES, emphasized the importance of dialogue among stakeholders in the energy sector:

“It was a long day, a day full of ideas, full of valuable speeches that taught us many things. I would like to thank all participants, partners, and media partners, everyone who made this event extremely useful and made things happen.”
