Mr. Claudiu Butacu, Co-founder of EFdeN, was challenged to analyze the cost of innovation for the NGO he founded and what were the challenges he faced in this endeavor.
Mr. Butacu together with his team (where the average age is 22 years old) represented Romania at a world competition of sustainable solar houses. The cost of curiosity to get out of the comfort zone and to discover the first competitions of solar and energy efficient houses laid the foundations of the subsequent approach of creating the houses of the future.
The lack of legislation, the distrust in the implementation of photovoltaic panels in Romania because they are not profitable and the burn-out that young people face are just some of the costs that the EfdeN team paid.
